Short-Term UK Visit Visa
Planning a holiday or visiting friends and family in the UK? The Short-Term UK Visit Visa, also known as the Standard Visitor Visa, is your gateway to exploring the UK. For Indian passport holders, the visa costs approximately 115 GBP or ₹12,000. This visa allows you to stay in the UK for up to 6 months.
Long-Term UK Visit Visa
For those needing extended stays, the Long-Term Standard Visitor Visa is an ideal option. This visa offers flexibility with durations of 2, 5, or 10 years.
Note: While a return ticket is not legally required to enter the UK, you may need to show proof of your plans and ability to leave the UK after your visit. Traveling without a return ticket might lead to complications.
Documents Required for a UK Visit or Tourist Visa Application
- UK Tourist Visa Application Form: Complete the VAF1A form online for your application.
- Valid Passport: Ensure your passport has at least one blank page and remains valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the UK.
- Proof of Financial Stability: Provide evidence of sufficient funds to cover your stay, such as bank statements or payslips from the last six months. Additionally, details of your accommodation in the UK are required.
Note: Full payment for your stay isn’t necessary before obtaining the visa. You may also provide: - ID and address details of a person sponsoring your trip. - ID and passport number of any relatives residing in the UK.
- Complete Travel Itinerary: Submit a detailed plan of your trip, including travel dates, destinations, meetings, tours, and any events you plan to attend in the UK.
- Travel History: Provide documentation of your travel history for the last 10 years, such as visas and entry/exit stamps in current and previous passports, or residency permits.
- Home Country Residence Details: Include specifics about your current address and how long you have resided there.
- Biometric Information: If applying for a visa that allows a stay of over 6 months, submit your biometric information, including fingerprints and a digital photo, at the designated application center.
- Invitation Letter: If applicable, include a letter of invitation from a UK resident. This letter, often referred to as a sponsorship letter, confirms that the host has enough space to accommodate you during your stay. It can be addressed to the UK consulate or directly to the applicant, detailing the host's willingness to provide accommodation.
- Visa Fee Payment: Provide a receipt confirming payment of the UK visa fee.
